What a different way of life I have now. I have no trouble sleeping, and as regards to coughing and sneezing, well that’s just bliss!!!!!!

I had been suffering with sciatica for nearly a year, which was affecting my left leg and ankle.  I had even started to walk with a limp to ease the pain.  I suffered with sleepless nights, driving was becoming uncomfortable and even coughing and sneezing was unbearable with the pain.

I decided that enough was enough and I arranged a consultation with Mr Ishaque at the Priory Hospital.  He arranged for me to have X-Rays and also an MRI.  I re-visited Mr Ishaque to talk through the results of the scans.  He explained in much detail the reason I was suffering with so much pain and advised that I had a large disc herniation. The only option was to have surgery.

I was admitted to the Priory Hospital in April for my operation, a decompression micro discectomy.    I had never felt so nervous in my life, but having Mr Ishaque visit me in my room and also seeing his Anaesthetist, Dr Da Silva, they both put me at ease and I was ready to face going in to Theatres.

After my operation, I could not believe that I was not suffering with any pain.  Mr Ishaque came to visit me before I was discharged and explained in much detail the outcome of my operation and also my recovery pathway.  After four weeks I was back driving my car, what a difference driving is now a days, and also with excellent advice from Mr Ishaque and physio, I was back at work 6 weeks after.

I cannot thank Mr Ishaque and his team enough.  I should have had the operation done months ago, as my whole experience of having my operation and my recovery was a doddle!!!!
