Many thanks for your help over the past few months. I have just had my follow up consultation with Professor Ishaque and I related to him how pleased I am with the result of my procedure that took place at Heath Lodge Clinic.

I think it’s only right that I write a testimonial that I am more than happy for Professor Ishaque to publish so that future patients are aware of what they can expect prior to any contact.

For over two years I suffered with lower back and groin pain and being a slave to osteo arthritis believed that it was all age related and something that I would have to endure along with the constant supply of prescription painkillers. I attended my GP surgery on a number of occasions and was eventually told that the problems were thought to relate to kidney cysts that could be controlled with medication. It was my son that suggested that I ought to seek specialist advice and mentioned Professor Ishaque who carried out a surgical procedure of his back several years ago resulting in him being pain free since.

I originally saw Professor Ishaque in 2019 when he immediately identified problems with my lower spine but also with my right hip. He couldn’t be certain that my degree of pain was caused by my back problems and suggested that I consult a specialist hip surgeon to get a formal diagnosis. This resulted in me undergoing a total hip replacement, following this I was still experiencing some degree of pain in my lower back so I sought further advice from Professor Ishaque and the problem was quickly identified and related to arthritic changes to my spine and narrowing of the spinal canal. I was advised that L4 and L5 nerve root block injections may well remedy the pain I was experiencing and arranged for this to be authorised with my healthcare insurer. By this time the Covid 19 pandemic had reared it’s head and Professor Ishaque assured me that this procedure could be carried out at Heath Lodge Clinic in Knowle, Solihull. The clinic was as good as any private hospital, caring and totally professional, putting me at ease at all times and strictly adhering to Covid 19 guidelines.

Following this procedure, Professor Ishaque explained that I was not to be alarmed if I still experience a degree of pain in my lower back as it was quite common for it to be necessary to repeat the procedure again and included a facet joint injection at right L5/S1.

I am extremely happy to say that after years of discomfort and lower back pain I am now totally pain free. You hear the term life changing being said by people and that describes how I feel. Prior to this procedure I never knew what each day would bring, there were more bad days than good and however much I try to kid myself the pain was getting worse as I got older.
