I am smiling again after 25 years………

I had a discectomy operation to relieve a ruptured disc, which was not successful.  This set in motion a long trail of back problems culminating in many years of pain and consultations with numerous doctors, physiotherapists, pain management specialists and years of spinal injections every 6 months to alleviate the severe pain.  Eventually even these injections failed to give me much relief. 

My life was one long battle to keep going although I did firmly believe that someone, somewhere would be able to help me.

Whilst researching on the internet I found Mr. Mushtaque Ishaque whose C.V. and patients testimonials so impressed me that I saw my G.P. who gave me a referral. I must say that my G.P. was also extremely impressed.

Once I had met Mr. Ishaque I knew that I had found someone who was not only at the top of his field but cared deeply about all of his patients.

After our consultation, examination, x-rays and MRI scans, Mr Ishaque said he could help me when all others have said they could not or chose not to. The feeling of finally finding someone who understood just how debilitating my symptoms were and was prepared to help me was overwhelming.

Mr Ishaque explained everything to me and my husband and although apprehensive we decided to put all of our faith in this man. I needed multi-level spinal fusion and I also had a slight scoliosis of the spine, all of which he said he could deal with.

Mr Ishaque arranged for us to meet Dr Da Silva (Consultant Anaesthetist) who again I felt completely at ease with and he talked about the procedure, how long the operation would be and what to expect after surgery, he answered all of our questions and whilst still very scared at least we had the complete picture.

On 31st December 2013 I underwent my multi-level spinal surgery and was dreading the long road of recovery but on waking up I was amazed how I felt, the pain was managed during my stay at the Priory and all the staff were brilliant.  Now 7 months on I can’t tell you how Mr Ishaque has changed my life.  I am back to my old self and pretty much doing things I never dreamed I would be able to do again. I can’t thank Mr Ishaque and his team enough.
