Having been a nurse for 25 years, my back had taken a great deal of strain and punishment! I first met Mr Ishaque and his team in January after sudden onset of excruciating back pain.

Having known Linda (his wonderful secretary) through work, he was my first choice of consultant. From the initial consultation I was put at ease and felt comfortable and happy he knew exactly what he was talking about. As previously mentioned, as a nurse, I am hard to persuade about anything!

After an x-ray and MRI Scan he diagnosed a prolapsed disc and trapped nerves. This was causing me to be off sick from work, unable to walk long distances or even dress. At only 45 years old I felt my life had ended. THEN a miracle happened.

All it took was a quick injection and block (under general anaesthetic) and I was pain free. This was done as a day case at The Priory. Following this I have had physio and an exercise regime to get me back on my feet and functioning as a normal person again.
