I first saw Mr Ishaque  in 2010, prior to this I had seen several consultants, had MRI scans, epidural injections and previous pelvic/abdominal surgery thought to be the the cause of my pain. I was prescribed a high level of pain medication and was told I had a pain condition and nothing could be done, which was hard to accept as I was still unable to sit or stand without severe pain. I felt my life was out of my control.

I had previously seen a spinal consultant so was very lucky to be referred to Mr Ishaque after seeing a hip specialist at the Priory.

From my first meeting with Mr Ishaque I felt hope again, that I had somebody fighting for me believing in me and caring about my situation and wanting to help me.

Mr Ishaque performed spinal injections at various levels of my spine, to see the effect on my pain.

Then in July 2012 I had a 8 hour operation, Mr Ishaque rebuilt my spine fusing my vertebrae together, inserting metalwork and correcting the scoliosis of my spine.

I was in hospital for 8 days; the care I received from everyone was excellent.  Mr Ishaque and Doctor da Silva came to see me every day to see how I was and I felt so safe being in the hands of these 2 caring, encouraging and understanding professionals.

My 1 year post surgery appointment with Mr Ishaque was last week, and I am so grateful to him. The past few years have been the most difficult in my life but my progress started when I was put under Mr Ishaques care. I now walk 45 minutes daily and feel in control and am enjoying my life again. My spine is still fussing and complete recovery is expected to be about 2 years.

I cannot thank Mr Ishaque, Doctor da Silva and Secretary Linda enough, they have shown me such kindness and it is because of Mr Ishaques skill and determination to help me that I am back on my feet again.
