I first saw Mr Ishaque in April 2014 with an aggravated old back injury.  I was in considerable pain with a herniated disc pressing on my sciatic nerve.  The diagnosis was quick, accurate and understanding the pain and discomfort I was in, Mr Ishaque recommended the less intrusive root ganglion block injections into my lower back.  He explained the procedure in great length, answered my queries, and re-assured me.  I was aware of the percentages and the fact that the injections had an 80 % success rate.  After the 2nd unsuccessful course of injections I was understandably losing faith and after enduring nearly 8 months of constant pain in my left leg I was becoming quite desperate.  Mr Ishaque understood the pain and torment I was experiencing but explained the pro’s and cons of a final injection procedure.  He was very patient and dealt with my frustration professionally and compassionately.  I’m glad he did.  It was 3rd time lucky for me, no intrusive surgery and the absolute relief at being pain free is indescribable.  I have nothing but praise for Mr Ishaque and his team who have supported me during a very painful phase of my life. 

I’ll always remember his phrase when advising me to have the root ganglion block injections over intrusive surgery…”Why use a sledgehammer to crack a nut!!”  He was so right…Thank you.
