After a fall in February this year I suffered the onset of extreme back and leg pain. I saw my GP who diagnosed sciatica and prescribed strong painkillers.

The thought of taking painkillers for any length of time was quite daunting plus with the immobility  I was unable to lead a normal active life.

I was introduced to Professor Mushtaque Ishaque through medical insurance and was able to see him  promptly at the Priory Hospital, Edgebaston . He recommended an MRI scan which revealed I has a slipped disc (acute disc herniation). He suggested injecting steroids into my lower back.

As you can imagine I was quite anxious but Professor Ishaque put me at ease straight away and was very reassuring. The whole procedure from initial consultation to the injections being carried out went very smoothly. I have been painfree ever since.

I found Professor Ishaque very understanding and he was able to answer all my questions very thoroughly. He has a very calming and caring manner. I would 100% recommend him to anyone with back/leg pain.

I’m so grateful that I can now return to a normal life.
