From the minute I had the good fortune to be referred to Mr Ishaque, I felt I had met someone who without any doubt had the power to turn my life around.

It is very clear that he sees each patient as a person, and treats the family as a whole, not just the individual. The first time my Husband met him (having had to endure months of hearing my gushing comments!) he left the consulting rooms and commented that if Mr Ishaque asked you to jump off the roof because it would help, then you probably would such was the level of trust! Mr Ishaque and his highly talented and charming anaesthetist, Dr Da Silva, make up a team impossible to fault, backed up brilliantly by his friendly and helpful PA, Linda Hamilton

All the way through the pre op period I felt cared for, and as I had other health issues making things a little more difficult and particularly frightening for me, I was even more grateful for all their constant and continual reassurance and attention to detail.

On the day of surgery they both took time to visit me and my family to ensure we were all comfortable with what was about to take place, and I walked into theatre just knowing I could not be in safer hands.

During my stay at The Priory one or both of them visited me daily - even on Sunday, to make sure that all was well. During the whole stay they were both unfailingly kind, calm and thorough, and without question I felt they could not have done more for me to make my stay any better.

The aftercare has been excellent. Each time I have been back to see Mr Ishaque (at 4 weeks, 6 months and 12 months post op), he has taken the same amount of time as the last, he never rushes you, and continually makes you feel that he really cares about the final outcome. He told me once that he likes to treat his patients as if they are a member of his family... How lucky was I to have a surgeon who not only says this, but acts on it.

Mr Ishaque's undoubted skill as a surgeon is extraordinary, but it is his manner, charm and his personal touch that stands him apart from others.

He has given me a pain free future with the physical ability to carry on living an active life. I can never thank him enough and would recommend him to absolutely anyone.

Please pass on my deepest and heartfelt thanks to Mr Ishaque for all that he has done. He has supported me over the other medical issues I now have as a result of gentamicin toxicity from previous surgery, and the devastating thing for me is that because of this, the fabulous outcome from my spinal surgery cannot benefit me the way it otherwise would have done, and my life will always now have massive limitations that have nothing to do with my back.

I look forward to seeing Mr Ishaque for my final check-up next year and like many others will miss my visits to him when I am finally discharged!

Many thanks to you all
