All my friends and family, and especially my husband, cannot believe the transformation Mr Ishaque has made to my life. I feel like a new woman again!

October 2014

I cannot thank Mr Ishaque enough. I am again living my life to the full.

I decided to see Mr Ishaque in February 2013 as my GP said there was nothing wrong with me after suffering from severe back pain for 18 months and had undergone extensive physiotherapy and acupuncture! I was at the stage of not being able to look after my 2 year old son, unable to carry out day to day tasks and unable to drive as I had numbness in my right leg and foot. I was suffering from constant and debilitating pain, which meant I couldn’t live my life to the full and I became very depressed.

I thought enough was enough and made my appointment to see Mr Ishaque. When I met Mr Ishaque I felt a huge relief that at last someone believed what I was going through. He immediately signed me off work and organized an urgent MRI scan and an x-ray the same day! Mr Ishaque was mortified at the cocktail of drugs I had been prescribed to try and help with my back pain.

I returned to see Mr Ishaque the very next day and he told me I had a very large disc herniation pressing on my sciatic nerve. He gave me every confidence that he could help me. He spoke about the options and tried injections initially but soon it became apparent that surgery was going to be the best option.

I was admitted to the Priory Hospital in July 2013 for a microdiscectomy, decompression and fusion. I was very nervous on the day of my operation and was worried about my two young children, but Mr Ishaque visited me before I went to theatre and so did his anaesthetist Dr De Silva, and they both put me at ease.

After my 3 hour operation I woke up feeling no more pain and Mr Ishaque saw me straight away and reassured me that the operation went well. On my third day of recovery Dr De Silva visited me at 6.30 a.m. and got me walking the ward and stairs. I can remember saying to him “I feel tall again!”. I was kept in hospital for 7 days and every day Mr Ishaque came to see me.

I was driving within 6 weeks and started physiotherapy. By November 2013 I had returned to work.

I have recently seen Mr Ishaque for my 12 month review appointment, and he organized a review x-ray of my spine which revealed everything was good.

I have certainly made up for things this year.  I have been on 3 holidays with my family. I am now back exercising, power walking 2-4 miles twice a week, doing body-pump and Pilates at my local gym.

All my friends and family, and especially my husband, cannot believe the transformation Mr Ishaque has made to my life. I feel like a new woman again!

I am truly, truly grateful for everything Mr Ishaque and his team have done for me. Their personal attention to detail and professionalism was exceptional throughout my treatment.

Thank you for everything,

Louise Osborne.
