I was in considerable pain and could not get through the day without taking prescribed pain killers.

I would like to take this this opportunity to thank Mr. Ishaque and his team for their professionalism and kindness when treating my condition. To begin with I was referred to Mr Ishaque from the BMI Priory shoulder specialists at the Priory, as they felt  the issue with pain down my right shoulder/arm was more likely to be caused by my neck and not my shoulder.

 

I met with Mr Ishaque within days of this referral, and upon reviewing my MRI scans he immediately diagnosed the issue as being a disk hernia in my neck which was impacting on nerves down my right shoulder and arm. At this point this was huge relieve to know what was causing the  problem, as this had been  going on for  several months and was getting progressively worse. I was in considerable pain and could not get through the day without taking prescribed pain killers.   

 

Mr Ishaque recommended the least evasive course of treatment to begin with (rather than opting for surgery ) which involved a CT injection of steroid into my neck.  The procedure itself was quick (just an afternoon as day patient) and I was looked after so well by all at the Priory.  I am hugely relieved to say that within a few weeks this had a massive impact on my condition. A further follow up CT injection a few months later again rather than opting for the more evasive surgery has now meant I was able to swim on  holiday, and do all the things which had  proved impossible when the pain was restricting my quality of life.

 

I cannot thank you enough as the CT injections have given me my life back and I now only occasionally get shoulder pain which goes away after stretches and there is NO longer a need for pain killers !
